Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $30.00 Overall Rating: Carefree Village is a large park: 400 ish sites with more planned. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.
This was our first visit, and we were treated like old friends. The park consists of huge gravel areas with RV sites one after another.
There is no privacy between sites except all the gravel. There is no vegetation or trees. The sites are very wide with a spot for rv and room for a car, sometimes two. There are tons of amenities. Two swimming pools, two hot tubs, pool tables, a ping pong table, a small 9 hole miniature golf, a putting green, several pickle ball courts, several shuffleboard courts, a couple bocce courts, and card rooms with tables. Also, there are some planned activities. Directv worked fine.
They have cable but we didn't use it. Verizon was 4g and 3 bars. The WII FI is very unreliable (which is shocking for such a nice resort) so we relied on our hotspots most of the time. It's busy during the day: you can hear traffic, airplanes, helicopters, and trains. There are only 4 trash bins for the whole park, and they were overflowing most days. They either need more trash bins or more frequent pick up. There are lots of minerals in the water so it leaves stains.

Overall, it's a decent park, and we would stay again if in the area. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Motorhome. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00 Overall Rating: Very modern park, about 5 years old. Spacious sites, gravel but quite level. Office is open 7 days/week, 9-5.
If arriving after 5pm, call for the gate code before 5pm. Dances every Sat night, many activities including pickleball, bowling, volleyball, tennis. Bingo, putting green, horseshoes, pool & spa (2 of each), fitness center, game room, computer room, bocce ball. Paved interior roads. Hiking within a reasonable distance, nearby shopping. Besides the activities at the park, Yuma offers a wide variety of activities. The recent balloon festival was excellent.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $42.00 Overall Rating: No one in the office to check you in on weekends. Make a reservation in advance to get the gate code to check in on the weekend. Park is 4 yrs old with gravel pull-thru's with 50 amp FHU. Some sites have concrete pads for your chairs, and some just gravel. The sites are some of the biggest I've stayed in. The wi-fi works works great from the site I am on.
The park is very clean and far off the highway from any hwy noise, but still close to supplies you might need. The park has everything you need from pools, weight room, bowling alleys to jacuzzi's. I would rate it a 4/5 just because of the gravel sites. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Fifth Wheel. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $18.00 Overall Rating: We stayed 1 month at the standard rate of $550 plus the cost of electric. The sites are all huge having been designed for double-wide manufactured homes.
They will fit any length of RV. If you are coming just for a few days they will most likely assign you a pull-thru site opposite the activities amenities. Note that the pull-thru sites do not have a patio area, the whole site is large gravel.
There are 8 beautiful new pickleball courts which can be lit at night. The other amenities such as Bocce, Shuffleboard, and mini golf can also all be lit for night usage. They have a full kitchen that serves lunch every Wednesday and breakfast every Saturday. The meals are only $5 per person and are very good. The park is located a mile from the Frontage Road and is extremely quiet at all times. It is very easy to access Highway 8 and 95 and head either direction on the Frontage Road as there is a traffic light.
Shopping is very convenient with a Wal-Mart 1.5 miles away and a newer Fry's within 5 miles. This Park offers fabulous value. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Motorhome. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness.
Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $43.00 Overall Rating: This is a fairly new park, only a couple of years old. The sites are very spacious so you will have plenty of room for all your chairs, tables, etc.
And your vehicle. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The only reason I did not rate a 10 is because there is not WiFi throughout the park. If you have a spot near the office, then you will be able to get it.
We were in a pull thru near the office and these do not have concrete pads but the back in sites do have the pads. There are no picnic table at any of the sites, and there are no trees/shrubs except by the buildings. The park offers a whole lot of amenities though.
They have three fenced in dog areas and they were always clean. There is a Walmart right up the street and the freeway access is right by the RV park. Roads in the park are all paved. While we were here one of our AC's quit working.
We called Vic's RV Repair. Vic came out and fixed this and was very reasonable. If you ever need any repairs, call him at 928-580-8774 and you will get someone who is honest and fair, unlike some. We have already made reservations to come back next year. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Motorhome.
Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00 Overall Rating: Nice park with some great facilities: bowling alley, work out room, small pool, etc.
We did not like the attitude of the manager and the price. It was well over 100 degrees and you are charging $50? That's the reason it was empty. Rock pull thru site, no trees.
If they don't change the way they do things, they won't be in business much longer. There are better options in Yuma. We suggest you stay somewhere else.
We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Motorhome. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $22.00 Overall Rating: We were here 2 months. Paid $550 + elec./mo. This is a new, gated resort, so everything is lovely & modern. We really liked the showers and can't understand why another reviewer thought they weren't good. The staff is professional & friendly and, when we had a problem, they provided us immediate service.
The resort has a free internet room with computers. Park Communications provided us wireless internet for $39/month and was very easy to get connected.
All of the facilities were lightly used so we had no problem using the many activities - bocce, pickleball, mini golf, shuffleboard, pool. Didn't try the bowling. Resort offers dinners, entertainment, and daily activities. This resort is well away from the highway and railroad track, so only a distant sound was heard. We liked the location as it was very near Walmart and a short drive to Fry's grocery. Only negatives with this resort are the shallow pool and the lack of greenery.
We would definitely return. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Travel Trailer. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $45.00 Overall Rating: Staff is very friendly & helpful. Mid November I got earlybird price of 550.00 a month.
It's out of town, 1.5 miles away from a Walmart. No noise from hwy nor airport except a few military jets.
The roads are paved and the setup is nice. However, there are almost no trees and no greenery, a few park models are there. The gravel sites are huge. It gives the whole park an 'open' feeling. Especially as there are no 'longtimers' with their usual porch and mess. It's the usual setup with space for the RV, concrete pad and space for the towing/towed vehicle. The Hookups are standard with water, power, sewer and cable TV, no hardwired internet ( too bad for a brand new setup).
The WiFi worked for us as we could pickup the signal from the computer room. For the rest of the park, bring your own solution. The Restrooms are all in tiles up to the ceiling, very nice, beautiful and clean. My negative point: The shower is separated from the 'dressing room' by a curtain and the 'dressing room' is separated by a curtain from the whole rest.
Unfortunately, the curtains don't reach the floor and there is no step between shower and 'dressing room', therefore, the whole floor is always wet. There are only two very small hooks, while the size of the shower is ok, the 'dressing room' is too small. Getting into your pants is a challenge to keep them off the wet floor and not stuffing the curtain into it at the same time. Amenities like small pool and only 4' deep, hottub, tennis, pickleball, bowling alley, mini golf, etc. We camped at Carefree Village Resort in a Motorhome.
Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $21.00 Overall Rating: Brand new park in Yuma.opened December 2014. Daily price listed ($21) reflects their grand opening monthly price of $550, plus electric. Located well off the freeway and within walking distance of a super Walmart.
Sites are very large with cement pads but the park feels like a gravel pit.no plantings or shade trees on the sites to help with the wind and heat. Small craft and card room and very small fitness room that right now is short on equipment. Laundry room wasn't planned very well, congested and hard to get around, machines are card operated. No park wifi. They have a computer room and the 3 computers they have provided which work well but using your own IPad or device is a crap shoot, not dependable at all, frustrating. Beautiful pool area, small pool and tiny hot-tub.
Hopefully when they get busier and expand they'll put in a lap pool and larger hot tub. There are lots of sports venues ie. Pickelball, tennis, mini golf, pool room, shuffleboard, horseshoes but there are no organized exercise classes/activities as yet. They have a state of the art 10 pin bowling alley, which is reasonably priced. Lots of camp workers here, mostly friendly, but there is one rude, arrogant man working in the kitchen who has managed to offend most of the paying campers. On the other hand the office staffers are polite, professional and always helpful.
Being the first season there are bound to be growing pains; they have a suggestion box and encourage comments. We would consider coming back next winter IF there are plantings and wifi improvements made over the summer and the price remains reasonable for what is here. Walmart and Fry's in the neighborhood. Bring your golf clubs. Many courses in the area. June 2018. Make sure you get a reservation if coming in on the weekend for the gate code. May 2018. Wal Mart Close.
February 2018. Shop at Fry's using your Fry's Loyalty card to save up to $1 on your fuel fill-up. Get your propane at Cactus Storage on the North Frontage Road just west of Fortuna Road as it is well priced and easy access even with a long motorhome. They are open 7 days a week.

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $21.00 Overall Rating: This is a large park. The sites are tight but doable. I am in a 43 foot Class A.
The Park was clean and well maintained and has an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. Tennis and pickle ball courts etc. However, I paid $1850 for 3 months (Jan, Feb, March) in advance.
In February both of my parents passed away. I inquired about a pro-rated refund and was told that they do not give refunds, even for a death in the family. Fortunately, my family decided to have the funerals in the summer so everyone could attend and I did not have to leave. I know many parks have a no refund policy, but a death in the family is always an exception. Additionally I was told about all the great activities they have there and was given a double sided activity schedule.
Almost every activity I tried to go to (volleyball, camera club, computer club etc) did not happen. Their activity Office advised me that all activities are put on by guests that are staying in the park who volunteer and they have no control if they don't show up. Sun Vista is advertising these activities which is a fraud if Sun Vista is not responsible for putting them on.
Another problem - it was advertised that there would be a Friday night fish fry. I got to the club house at 6:15 and was told that the fish fry ended at 6PM because it is a 55+ Park. How can a dinner on a Friday night end so early?
Yes, some eat early but others do not. There was also a pool party at the outside swimming pool and they were charging for the hot dogs. Paying over $650 a month I would think they could give you a free hot dog. I also went to the 4PM Happy Hour.
You bring you own alcohol. I got there and was told that there was a $5 charge.
I asked for what since I brought my own alcohol. I was told it was the cost to use the chair.
I would never go back here and be 'nickeled and dimed' to death, with very few activities actually taking place and a no refund policy with no exception for a death in the family. We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $47.00 Overall Rating: This was our first time to Yuma and Sun Vista and we love it. The park is very nice and very clean. The people here are quite friendly. There are so many activities here it is hard to chose what to do each day. The laundry facilities are very nice and very large as well as the most reasonable I have come across in quite some time.
The is even a place to hang your laundry on a clothesline! There is a very nice dog park with lots of grass to run and play and a smaller one just for business! Lots of RV spaces, there are pull throughs and easy access for big rigs.
This park is VERY secure and seems to be the one with the most going on. 2 large lovely pools, one in and one out as well as 2 hot tubs. Cant say enough about how much we are enjoying our stay. Definitely worth checking out. We even bought a park model here because it is great! We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel. Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $13.00 Overall Rating: Sun Vista is a large park, with 1200 sites. Most sites have park model snowbird residents; however, there is plenty of room for RVs as well. The park is gated with staff present, very well maintained, clean, and full of amenities. It's a safe park, in a very nice area that is convenient to local shopping and sites of interest. Streets are a bit narrow and sites are small - not a lot of privacy. There is a lot to do: many clubs, activities, entertainment, fitness center, two large swimming pools with hot tubs, a small park, recreation areas, pool rooms, large laundry, mail room, massage, hair salon. The flat, paved streets are ideal for bike riding.

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $14.00 Overall Rating: After reading the write up in the Good Sam RV Park directory, we decided to stay here for a month. They had a special on for $400.00 per month, which was a big help in deciding to stay here. The streets are narrow and we had a bit of a difficult time backing our 43' Super C into our spot, but did get it eventually. The site was level and quite roomy, with a concrete pad and gravel around.
We had a small orange tree at our site. It was fairly noisy at night due to trains, planes and cars. They have indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi's, a big library and a large variety of activities. We enjoyed everything at this camp, but were very disappointed that there was no Wifi, as stated in the Good Sam guide. The guide didn't specify 'Wifi Hotspot' or 'Wifi only in the office', it said Wifi. There is no wifi at the sites, and the wifi that was supposed to be at the office was impossible to get onto. When we (along with many others) complained at the office we were told by the office staff that they hadn't had any complaints before.
I think we got on the internet at the office twice in the month we were there. We also were not able to get the cable channels they said they had. There are mostly park models at this park. We were appreciative of the very friendly security guards who were there around the clock, and felt safe and secure with them there. We would stay here again if/when they have internet at the sites.
We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer. Value Clean Restrooms Service Clean Showers Cleanliness. Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $47.00 Overall Rating: This is an older campground with a a lot of older park models and some newer units. January 1st a lot of 5th wheel and motorhomes arrived. Great facilities and everyone was very friendly.
52 TV channels included and internet was easily connected by Century Link at $14.95/month. Moved here from an unfriendly park nearby. Lots of activities and a fitness center or if you prefer just sit by the pool and enjoy the sun. Stayed here for 2 months. We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel. Date of Stay: January, 2009 - $46.00 Overall Rating: Maybe we're just not 'into' the RV parks in Yuma. This park is just a huge 1200 space parking lot with mostly old park models with an available RV space dotted in between them.
The spaces are all back-in with a concrete patio and only 48 feet long. Thankfully, they're wide enough to park your tow car on the side. There are absolutely no views of anything, so if you're looking for beautiful scenery- this is not it!
The clubhouse is also huge (two stories) with many activities going on that I am sure is very nice for the seasonal people that are here for the winter. I am sure people come to Yuma for the wonderful winter climate (it was 75 and sunny today) and all the franchise restaurants and shopping are there; that's about it. We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: March, 2005 - $39.00 Overall Rating: The roads are narrow and the park models are almost to the street which make it tight to get into a spot. The park is in some state of disrepair. The pool was dirty and the cable didn't work the whole time we were here for us or our neighbours. There is a cost for the wi-fi and it was very slow and unreliable. We gave a $25.00 deposit for the gate remote and were refunded $20.00. Should take them no time at all to pay for that remote.
Bad attitude about it at the desk too. Of course the manager was not available. (they rarely are when there is a dispute) This is an $18.00 a night campground not a $39.00 a night resort. They had plenty of spots because most of the snowbirds are leaving by now. I do not recommend this park to anyone. We camped at Sun Vista RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome. Nearby Campgrounds.
